Members from Cohort Two and Three Team up for a Special Field Trip

Hallie Askuvich teamed up with Anna McGowan from Cohort 2 and took a group of 5th-7th grade students on a special field trip. They went to see the movie Hidden Figures. How cool is that? Following the movie, students were challenged to create timelines showcasing the history of NASA. These timelines also highlighted various significant events from the Civil Rights Era.
“Working with someone who has also been an #MSUrbanSTEM fellow has been a great experience,” Askuvich shared. “It’s refreshing to be able to collaborate with a colleague who is also passionate about STEM education and willing to seek out additional, inspiring learning opportunities for students.” Here’s what a few of their students had to say…
