Tasha Henderson Leads Robotics Team to State Competition

Tasha Henderson led her ALL GIRLS Robotics team to the state competition for the second year in a row.  Yes, all girls!  These young ladies dominated at the regional level, which led them to the state competition.  The First Lego League’s annual challenge was to solve a global water issue.  Henderson’s team designed a Smart Lead Alert Device, which is capable of detecting lead in pipes.  The device will then send an alert to a paired cell phone.  Pretty clever!

Henderson was very proud of her team.  “They were just so excited,” she shared.  Along with their success, came an opportunity for the girls to interview the producers of Lifetime movie Flint, which debuted in October of last year.  They also had the opportunity to work closely with mentors from the National Society of Black Engineers.  A big #MSUrbanSTEM congrats to Tasha Henderson and her Robotics Team.  Way to go!
